"We Are Shutting Down" - Inferno Drainer After orchestrating the theft of $70M in crypto...

In a post on TG dated Nov. 26, the team behind Inferno Drainer announced their decision to cease operation, stating that "it has been a long ride with all of you and wed like to thank you from heart. Unfortunately, nothing lasts forever." They also mentioned that the files and infrastructure necessary to run the wallet drainer will not be destroyed, allowing users to transition smoothly to alternative services.

Inferno Drainer rose to prominence earlier this year and experienced increased usage following the closure of the popular Monkey Drainer tool. Like its predecessors, Inferno provided crypto wallet-draining software and received a 20% cut of the stolen funds.

According to Web3 anti-scam platform Scam Sniffer, Inferno Drainer has pilfered nearly $70 million from more than 100,000 victims since February. However, the team behind Inferno Drainer suggested that the actual amount stolen exceeded $80 million.

CertiK, a blockchain security firm, described Inferno Drainer as "one of the most damaging phishing kits to the community weve seen," while noting that there are numerous active providers, including rival Pink Drainer and Angel Drainer, the latter of which released an update on Nov. 25 to facilitate wallet drains on additional blockchains.

Monkey Drainer, another prominent crypto drainer responsible for stealing millions, closed its operations in March, stating that it was "time to move on to something better."
